Coffea arabica

also known as the Arabian coffee, “coffee shrub of Arabia”, “mountain coffee” or “arabica coffee”, is a species of Coffea. It is believed to be the first species of coffee to be cultivated, and is the dominant cultivar, representing about 60% of global production. Coffee produced from the (less acidic, more bitter, and more highly caffeinated) robusta bean (C. canephora) makes up most of the remaining coffee production. Arabica coffee was first found in Yemen and documented by the 12th century. Coffea arabica is called ‏بُنّ‎ (būnn) in Arabic, borrowed from the (Oromo: Buna).

Guji Type Coffee

These beans are from the Guji zone in Ethiopia, one of the most exciting coffee regions in the world. Despite its proximity to neighbouring regions Sidamo and Yirgacheffe, the flavour profiles are distinct, giving complex, yet balanced tastes. Coffee farming also has ancient roots within the culture of the region. Our beans are of the native heirloom varietal and are from several smallholders.

Harar Type Coffee

Coffee from the Harar area of Ethiopia is commonly referred to as Harar coffee, or simply as Harar. The phrase “Ethiopian Harar” also refers to the coffee varietal used to produce coffee in the Harar region. The coffee beans from this type of coffee plant are yellow-green or golden-green in color and medium in size. It is one of the oldest coffee varietals still used to make coffee today.

Nensebo Type Coffee

The Guji region of Sidamo, along the Mora Mora River in southern Ethiopia, produces “forest coffee”, or wild growing coffee trees. The region also has numerous small coffee farms that pool their coffee in a co-op for milling and export. The typical variety of the Guji region is heirloom. It is important to us is that it is not a modern cultivar, but a traditional coffee, strikingly similar to the coffees grown there from the earliest times.

Nekemte Type Coffee

Nekemte coffee is produced in Western Ethiopia and it is highly valued for its pleasant fruity flavour. At times the higher-grade coffee can be unique with honey, citrus, and floral notes. It has long elongated beans with a green to brownish colour. The cup is generally clean with slight fruity acidic taste and body of the best quality mocha. It forms an important part of a specialist roasters blend, but it is also is an excellent gourmet single.

Peanut and Peanut + crude oil

also known as groundnut oil or arachis oil, is a vegetable oil derived from peanuts. The oil has a strong peanut flavor and aroma. It is often used in American, Chinese, South Asian and Southeast Asian cuisine, both for general cooking, and in the case of roasted oil, for added flavor.
